No. The Bible says that good deeds do not save one from sin. Ephesians 21: 8-9.

If you accept Jesus Christ’s gift of eternal salvation, then you will spend eternity with God in heaven.

“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.

Salvation is only possible through God’s mercy and grace.

The goal of God’s “plan” is to bring glory to Himself.

In John 17:1-5 Jesus prayed to God asking God to glorify Him for completing the work on earth God sent him to do before He returned to heaven--back to the glory. God is pleased with all who elect to live by His plan (to receive Him and believe in His name, have faith, and then live by the personal will of God).

“And, without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” - Hebrews 11:6

Can I be forgiven for my sins?

Yes. God made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and that is through His sinless Son, Jesus Christ.

He sent his Son Jesus to earth to die for our sins and provide a way that we can spend eternity with Him in Heaven. This is His free gift of eternal life. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Why do people suffer?

How can a God of love permit such things in the world as war, sickness, pain, and death, especially when the results often are felt most keenly by those who are apparently innocent?

Some people say: either He is not a God of love and is indifferent to human suffering, or He is not a God of power and is therefore helpless to do anything about it. We must understand that the world is now under God's curse (Genesis 3:17) because of man's rebellion against God's Word. This "bondage to decay" (Romans 8:21) is universal, affecting all people everywhere. God did not create the world this way, and one day will set all things right again. In that day, "He 1 will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more – or mourning, or crying, or pain…"(Revelation 21:4 NET).
